The Name That's Not Mine MAG
Frances.
You heard me, Fran.....ces,
I'm not going to hide you with aninnocent extra F in my name.
I'm simply going to be Laura F.
- you're notmine,
you sit in between my L and my F,
because you simply have nochoice.
Because of you I'm LFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF,
Just try and say it!
Nolonger am I "Pumpkin" or "Sweetie-pie,"
from the days of five-second memoryspan.
No longer am I "Laurie" either.
But there you are, pasted on my birthcertificate,
whether I get rid of you or not.
You're no big secret,
butnobody has the right to laugh at my Frances,
I didn't choose you,
TheJewish religion required you to be plucked off my dead aunt,
(probably so thatshe could finally rest in peace)
Thank all that you weren't my firstname.
So don't anyone laugh at me when I say
Frances.
