Rajsu's Rejection
The sky was bright and the wind was blowing through the grass on the field where Rajsu was sitting with his friends. They were having one last get-together before Rajsu left to California tomorrow. They were all peacefully sitting down, cracking jokes and doing stuff that 9 year olds would do. Suddenly Rajsu’s mom pulled up in her white honda and honked as a signal for Rajsu to come. Rajsu and his friends were getting up and walking towards Rajsu’s car. They all said goodbye and Rajsu got in the car and it drove away.
Back at his house Rajsu took a shower and got ready for bed. While he layed in bed he could hear his parents talking in the other room about how their new lives would be. “This is a great opportunity for us Rajesh.” “Yeah but I wonder how Rajsu will be, he doesn’t seem too enthusiastic about it.” “I’m not!” Rajsu thought, while he layed in bed. After eavesdropping some more on his parents he fell asleep. He soon awoke the next morning to the sound of his mother yelling at him to get up and get ready from the kitchen. He woke up and slowly walked towards the bathroom. He quickly washed his face, brushed his teeth, and used the bathroom. He then walked out to eat the pancakes his mother had prepared for him. After he finished breakfast his dad hurried everyone out the front door to wait for their U-haul van. Soon enough, the van pulled up, and helped them haul their luggage into the back. Everyone sat down and the van pulled away and off to the airport. Rajsu absent-mindedly walked through the security scanners and luggage checks. When they got to their gate the airplane was already boarding. Rajsu boarded and soon enough, they took off.
It was planned to be a 3 hour flight, and Rajsu sat there and started daydreaming. He recalled the moment when he scored the game winner for his, now old, basketball team. He could just hear the parents cheering and hearing the clock beep every time it went down a digit. The score was 60-61, Rajsu dribbled down the court tensely watching the clock. A defender ran at him, smooth as silk, he spinned past him. The clock was down to 2 seconds now, he had to shoot and so he did. “Swish,” it was over, they won, and Rajsu scored the winner. He could just hear the crowd yelling “Rajsu! Rajsu! Rajsu!” except it was his mom. He now entered back into consciousness and replied “what mom?” His mom told him that they were almost landed, apparently Rajsu fell asleep. “Ok cool” Rajsu sat quietly for the rest of the ride. Once they landed, Rajsu hurriedly rushed in front of his parents and his sister followed. His parents were softly yelling behind them, “wait up” but Rajsu had a mix of emotions running through him and didn’t want his parents to see. They picked up their luggage and got in the U-haul van. All their furniture was already in the house. Rajsu unpacked his stuff in his new bedroom and just went to bed. It was only 7 but he was tired and slept. The next day he spent calling his friends and talking to them for countless hours. Tomorrow was Rajsu’s first day at Colnlin Elementary school. He woke up the next morning and got ready for school. Soon after he got ready his mom dropped him and his sister to school.
Rajsu was assigned to room 10 with Mrs. Relle, Mrs, Relle introduced Rajsu to the class and then asked everyone to show some respect to him. She alo told him not to be afraid to ask someone to be your friend. She had the class ask 5 questions to him and then had him sit down, so she could continue teaching. Soon enough it was recess and Mrs. Relle dismissed the class for recess outside. Rajsu walked around thinking of what he could do on the first day of school, in this new state. He wanted to be calm and cool, so he could make a good first impression on the kids in his school. He saw people playing soccer, wall ball, and volleyball. He kept on walking until one activity finally caught his eyes, basketball. He loved playing basketball, it was his passion and favorite thing to do. He walked up to the kids playing ball, and asked “can I also play.” One guy named Siddhant said “Haha, you? You suck.” Rajsu slowly turned and walked towards the bench. He slumped down and sat on the seat while thinking about how his new life here in California might turn out. Before he even knew it, recess ended and he slowly trudged back to the class. Mrs. Relle asked “how was recess?”, and Rajsu said to himself, “just great.” He sat through the rest of class til it was lunchtime. During lunch, he silently ate his lunch while watching the other kids play basketball. Soon after he returned from lunch time, school ended. Rajsu’s mom picked him up and asked him “so how was your first day here?” Rajsu knew this was coming and had already prepared an answer. “It was really fun, and my teacher is awesome.” he replied. “It’s nice to hear you’re enjoying it here.” “Yup, it’s great.”
Weeks passed and all Rajsu did was watch the kids play basketball. He didn’t even attempt to try and do something else and no one ever talked to him. He went from hero to zero. One day while he was sitting on the bench, one of the kids playing ball yelled at Rajsu. “Kid, stop stalking us” Rajsu was infuriated so he jumped off the bench, grabbed the ball and shot a three. “It is now or never,” he thought as he tensely watched the ball. “Swish” he whispered to himself, being pushed down to the ground by another player. He yelled from the ground, “I can make that again.” Siddhant got and threw the ball to Rajsu, who was now getting up. He took a deep breath and cautiously shot. The ball flew through the sky and into the hoop. Siddhant reluctantly said “I guess you could join us,” Right then the bell rang, and Rajsu returned to the classroom with his new friends.
Soon after that the basketball guys realized that Rajsu was better than all of them and boasted about their friendship with him. Rajsu was becoming more and more popular everyday. Almost every one tried to get a spot next to him at lunch, but he always saved a spot for his dearest friend, Milsou. Rajsu was actually having a great time at Colnlin Elementary School and was now very popular for being a beast at basketball. He went from hero to zero, and now from zero to hero.

I wrote this peice, to try to make people see what bullying could cause. It could cause bullies to learn how they're making other kids feel. Hopefully, by reading this story, they will see what they are doing, and learn to respect everyone equally.
