Moving?
Moving to a new city can be very difficult for innumerable reasons. Especially if you are a teenager and have grown accustomed to your daily life. Going on the same bus every day, seeing the same faces at school, and hanging out with the same friends can all be hard to abandon. It understandable, but it is also important to keep in mind that if you have a positive attitude toward the big day, then it could turn out for the better.
To begin, moving into a new house can be quite strange, especially if you have never experienced it before. Now, you may love your new house way more than your old house and you may not. If this is the case, do not lose hope. Going into your new room and finding it completely empty can be weird. You may think that your new room or house in general could never add up to the quality of your old house. This is not true! Think of it as a new opportunity to decorate your room how you want it to be. Go to the store and buy a few accessories that will really dress up your room, or even look up decorations that you can make yourself in craft books or on the Internet to save on money. It could turn out that your new room is a much better place to study and hang out with your friends, but it is all up to you to make the effort.
In addition, there is the whole big hurrah of going to a new school with people you have never seen in your life. This is probably the most scary part of moving since you may feel like a loner not knowing anyone. Do not worry! People want to meet you just as much as you want to meet them. You can never have too many friends and that person sitting next to you in class may be just as shy as you. Also, do not feel nervous about taking the first step and asking to sit next to someone at lunch. No one wants to be the person sitting alone at lunch, and no one should have to. Just remember to keep a smile on your face and make a good first impression. Also, think about what classes you are going to take at your new school. Take classes that will challenge you but that you will also enjoy. Just because you have moved does not mean that you have to be miserable. You have the power to have a well balanced school and social life which will ultimately give you much optimism toward the present and future.
Finally, get inspired to join clubs and teams at your school. Just think of you interests and pick a club or team that suits you, and if you cannot decide, just pick one that sounds good to you. It could turn out being something that you really enjoy. Joining something like this will not only give you something fun to spend your time with, but you will be able to meet people who share these interests with you. It will give you something to talk about with other member and you can definitely build lasting friendships.
In conclusion, moving does not have to be as bad as it originally seems. Make the best out of it and you could end up having the time of your life. Moving is like a clean start and it gives you an opportunity to start fresh with a new group of people. Now it is up to you to make the difference and live it up!
