My name means "dusky or dark." I'd like to think that I can't relate to the meaning of my name. That it's just a simple word, chosen by my parents, because they liked the sound of it. But that's not my case. In many ways, my name's meaning seems to know me better than I do. I never knew the challenges that I would face in this lifetime, never knew how I would handle them either. But for some reason my name knew all along. Now, I linger in confusion. Pondering why it had always seemed to be one of the brighter things about me. Yet, here I am today, ironically finding out that it has always meant the opposite. I can't ever escape the dim shadows of my name. But, maybe for me, that's a good thing...
