Revamped grading at Waukesha West
Sick of the old 0-100 grading scale? Well apparently Waukesha West was, they moved on to a more simple way of grading, and it only has five numbers.
The new grading scale at West consists of the numbers 0-4, 4 being the highest grade, and making 0 obviously the lowest. So the question is, is this a more efficient and easier way to grade students, or is it causing some problems?
“It’s rounded a lot with most teachers. So you get a lower grade, and it’s harder to see what your grade is with it.” Luke, a senior at West stated.
In my opinion, I think that the grading system at West is a lot easier and would be simpler than the grading system we use. But on the other hand, we’re so used to the grading system that we use it would be hard to randomly switch like West did, more people would probably be confused at the new system rather than thinking it’s easier.
“I’m fine with the grading system we have, it’d be a lot more difficult to just switch” junior Brandon G. stated.
