Just Another Day - Jon Secada

So many memories of my days on the Grosse Pointe Bulldogs come flooding in with this song. This was our song. Not too sure how it started but after every win, we would play this song. Our coaches even sent something to Jon Secada himself and he responded!! It was so crazy to us middle scholars.

Africa - Toto

Growing up I remember hearing this song all the time. My dad loved this song, so he would always play it in the car with me. Africa by weezer is so inferior, I hate it when people compare the two. Toto’s version is legendary.

Cigarette Daydreams - Cage the Elephant

This song introduced me to the alternative genre. This song is nothing short of amazing. This is one of the big 3 on my late night drive playlist- float. I always feel amazing and don’t have a single breath listening along because I will be singing the whole time.

Ophelia - The Lumineers

This song is my go-to on late-night drives. It is so zen. It makes me feel so peaceful and it is almost impossible to not sing a long and bob my head. Nothing else to say, this song is on float.

Big Time Rush - Big Time Rush

I had to include this song because growing up BTR was my go to show. I even saw them in concert when I was 6 or 7 maybe (I’m not too sure) at DTE with my sister and cousins. It was huuuuge in my house growing up, and my favorite was always Kendall.

Revolution (Unlike Pluto Remix) - Diplo feat. Faustix & Imanos and Kai

This will be played before any hockey game I will ever play. This increases my focus drastically and just puts me in the mood to compete. I think this was in a past NHL game so that’s probably what sparked my interest and made me associate it with hockey.

Yellow - Coldplay

Again an essential when it comes to late night drives. Coldplay is one of my favorite bands and attending one of their concerts is definitely on my bucket list. Chris Martin’s vocals are just chilling; he has a song with Kanye “Homecoming” that is one of my favorite Kanye songs.

All Girls Are the Same - Juice WRLD

This was one of my first songs I heard by Juice, and shortly after I fell in love. This is a classic for the feels playlist (or not) that I am able to go word for word on the entire song. Juice’s music is therapeutic and is always there for me whenever I feel sad or blahhhh.

Never Needed No Help - Lil Baby

This is my second favorite song to listen to on game day for hockey. Definitely my favorite Lil Baby song. I love the message being spread in this song, he needed help but no one was ever there, so he just did it on his own. Great song.

Kids - MGMT

This song is my favorite summer party song. This song has stuck with me for pretty much my whole life. It came out in 2007 when I was 3, and the second these vibrations reached my ear I was in love. It is impossible to not dance along or sit completely still listening to this song. This is a classic I will never forget.

Otis - JAY-Z & Kanye West

This is one of my favorite songs from my favorite artist, Kanye West, and is without a doubt my favorite JAY-Z Kanye collab song. The sample comes from Otis Redding, a great singer/songwriter in the 1960s, and Kanye and JAY-Z glide on this beat effortlessly.

Love Yourz

One of my favorite songs ever. The message that this song demonstrates is a lesson I will continue to live by for the rest of my life. “You ain’t never goin be happy till you love yours.” There will always be people with products that are better than the ones that you have, and that is okay. You need to realize all of the items you own are constantly being improved so it will be impossible to always have the top of the line unless you constantly keep buying the newest version. “Beauty in the struggle, ugliness in the success.” top tier song here.

Knock Knock

This is a great up beat party song. I love listening to this when I’m in a good mood and want a catchy tune to sing along to. Mac miller is in my top 5 artists currently, yet this isn’t his best song it is without a doubt one of his greats.
