Fiction No More
Today, September 11th 2017 students in 8th grade, Ms. Sholtes language arts class were outraged by the shocking news. The 8th grade students were working on their writing assignments when all of a sudden Ms. Sholtes received an “unexpected email”. She put the email on the smartboard so that the students could see it and started reading it outloud. “Dear staff, parents, and students. She finally read that the Mukwonago school board has decided to ban all fiction books.
“They can’t do that,” stated eighth grade student Maddy Horton. “This is ridiculous,” another student added. The students, were devastated as Ms. Sholtes collected their prized possessions, their books. As Sholtes went up and down the rows collecting books, eighth grade student JJ Hansen noticed something rather shocking. “How did you send an email to yourself?” Sholtes blushed knowing that she had been caught. “It doesn’t matter if the email is fake or not just write your articles.” All the students bursted out laughing. “I can’t believe she tricked us,” said Kayla Hickok. “Remember your journalists, this is your new story,” stated Ms. Sholtes. This reporter wants to let everyone know that teachers go to high extents to help their students become successful. Even if it means to put their students in real life situations.
