The Last Goodbye by Rachel D.
I find Rachel D.'s article "The Last Goodbye" incredibly moving and extremely powerful, this story personally got to me as i have friends whose parents and family are involved with law enforcement, and as the political and social climate have heated up over the last few years, friends and family have gotten increasingly worried f something could happen, so that's why it really resonates with me. I also think that your quote of "why didn't his black life matter?" as it really packs a emotional punch, even days after reading this, as in the whirlwind of emotion, it's easy to forget that people on both sides are just that, people, each with thoughts, dreams, and families. Anyways, thank you Rachel, for sharing this sensitive moment in your life, and my deepest condolences for your loss.
