I found Bekah H.'s article "From The Back" extremely moving because it talks about the futility of terms such as popularity. Specifically high school popularity. She describes two completely different people, one popular and the other not. She then ends with the line, "From the back, they look the same." This simple sentence promotes the idea that popular is an empty, shallow term. It can represent people that put others down in an effort to raise themselves. As students we need to quit using terms such as popular and unpopular. Thank you, Bekah, for writing this article and allowing me to respond to it.
