Feedback on Finding Smiley
I thought "Finding Smiley" was just a weird title. What kind of name was Smiley? Though I thought the title was strange, I had the urge to actually read it. "Finding Smiley," by Julianne B., is about Julianne's quest to find the right dog. Seeing the word "dog" immediately drew me in to her story.
"Aunt Elaine, have the right dog lick my chin." I have always wanted a dog myself, and seeing Julianne's experience only made me imagine having a dog. I could imagine myself as her, excited to pick the perfect dog for me. I couldn't help but chuckle at the cute moments between Julianne, her parents, and her dog. I smiled at the innocent seventh-grader. I hope a dog like Smiley can also make me smile.
