American Dream Review
In the writing written by Payton C. I felt that it expressed alot about the problem of finding a job and making it in america. Her writing about the struggle of american life left me feeling like it could happen to anyone. The Poem "The American Dream" is a very relatable poem about the struggles of american life. The poem talks about a person having no money and being focused on a dream. This is shown in the text when the author states "my pockets, empty and broke, America the brave and the beautiful." This shows that making it in america isn't easy but sometimes chasing your dreams are worth all the struggles. The author writes in the last two lines " I thought I'd make plenty but, I've never been so empty." This is so relatable because a lot of people do believe they will make a lot and some of them do but they are empty because they aren't doing what they enjoy. It kind of makes me wonder what is really the american dream?
