Feedback on "Society"
"Society" by Sarah Lynch is a reflective poem on the world we live in today, hence the title. It is short yet meaningful, providing a strong point of view on how society and people are today. The poem describes several differences present among people, and how we mask ourselves, including our appearances and emotions. A beautifully written piece, "Society" speaks the truth.
I personally liked this piece because of its accuracy. Sarah did such a great job explaining the differences among people, although they may be subtle. For example, she said, "Straight or curl painted or chipped loose or tight black or white ripped from the same cloth and torn from the same past." This depicts society and its diversity, as people come in all different shapes and sizes, yet once we all came from the same place. Finally, the poem flowed and it ended with a a call to action, which I thought was effective.
