Feedback on "Fire"
I greatly enjoyed reading Mira Karunanidhi's poem titled "Fire." It talks about the inevitably of getting burned when you fight fire with a fire that is as equally powerful. In this case, the fire is her and someone else. The poem is structured and written in a way that flows smoothly. Even though rhymes are not present in "Fire," I would definitely describe it as a rhythmical piece. Its simplistic style only deepens the message of it.
My favorite line of the poem was, "you needed oceans to stop me//but i gave you seas." It makes you realize that sometimes, giving it your all may still not be enough for someone else. Mira describes herself as being left to burn, being inextinguishable, being unstoppable. I feel that we've all experienced stubbornly fighting a person as stubborn as you are. For this reason, I can definitely relate to Mira's beautiful poem.
