"Grammar in the Digital Age," by Katie Prior changed my view on this topic. She clearly describes the usage of grammar in this age. From capitalization to punctuation errors, people don't follow the rules online. Katie defends some points of these incorrect usages of grammar as they can express speech in reality.

I used to think that people didn't care about the rules of grammar online, but reading this article made me wonder if I didn't take in consideration of verbal expression. When people speak, there are emotions that can affect their speech. "'No' might seem finite, while 'nO' may seem frantic," proves this to be true as typing one word in different ways can have various interpretations. I have never thought of this when I read messages texted to me, but this article has shown me that there may be more behind using incorrect grammar online.
