Facing a similar experience like that mentioned in Ronnie Maryash’s personal story “Home Alone,” I can relate to his thoughts and his feelings on home invasions. Ronnie speaks for all facing an experience “so traumatic that no matter how hard I try to forget, it never leaves me…” because events like these cannot be easily forgotten. No matter how hard you try to erase it, there will always be traces of that memory that will follow you. The fear brought on by these events in which the ending seems to be uncertain during that time leaves you shaking and paralyzed with fear to the point where just like him you “can feel the blood running through [your] veins”. Ronnie has my gratitude for being able to voice his story of living in a moment of fear since it is not something most facing a similar experience, such as myself can ever say out loud and admire his viewpoint in finding a silver lining to his story.
