I can relate to Shari when she wrote "Idiotic Questions". I am not afraid to admit to a stereotype being funny, however, the amount of constant jokes pertaining to my race being heard over and over again in a rapid succession can be botheresome. Shari wrote "I love my KFC and fried rice just as much as the next blasian... but what do I say when someone makes a joke about my "gang being shot up" or asks if i've "robbed any banksrecently"? Should I laugh it off or make a scene"? This thought is controversial and seems to clash in my mind when I have a similar experience. Although, more often than not, the slight moment of awkwardness is so cringe worthy that you find yourself pausing before you recoil with something possibly worst. In the end I agree with your approach, thoughts, and solution within the situation and understand, being a "blaxican" myself.
