Magnificent Yellow
Many people don't get to live life for a very long time, including young childeren. One of these people are Tony, Melinda Liu's brother who was nine years old at the time. He was diagnosed with brain cancer. Between Melinda, the author, and her brother there was no sibling rivalry. This piece was very inspirational to me although I have no siblings.
Siblings have sibling rivalry, but being an only child is different. You have no one but your parents. "Magnificent Yellow", inspired me to treasure the time I spend with my family. Life always brings you the unexpected, but Melinda had a few months before her brother's passing. Some people don't have that long. Family is forever, but life isn't. If I ever did have a sibling, I would hope there'd be no sibling rivalry between us. In the future, I would most definitely spend more time with my family and cherish the memories we make. This piece has changed the way I spend time with my family.
