The Tunnel
“The Tunnel” by Max Firehammer is a horror short story. A group of teens are
curious about a tunnel in town that is supposed to be haunted from all the murders that
happened there. No one knew when the tunnel was built there and cults were known to do
human sacrifices in the 60s. The group of teens entered unprepared of what they were about to
witness.
This piece is my favorite out of all of them, the piece because it involves horror
which is my favorite genre. When the teens first enter the tunnel they hear a child’s voice,
when they go looking for the child they find a creature instead. I was expecting they would find
a lost child from a long time ago. The only thing I did not like about the piece is that it ended in
“please let me forget”. I would’ve like if there was more explanation to it. For example the
author could have explained what happened after Dan encountered the creature. This piece is very creepy and interesting.
