Response to The Coffee Shop
“The Coffee Shop” by Lilian W. is a relatable story. The secret excitement and desire between two people is common all around. It is also common that people don’t have the nerve to get up and say, “I like you,” or “Hi, my names…” Although it may be noticeable to many other people, the ones who are intrigued usually have no idea the other feels the same way and are oblivious to the fact that they have a chance. The problem is people get to scared of rejection and have no desire to be let down. So, instead we put up a wall because that guarantees no turndown. I can personally relate to this story because of my own experiences as a teen. Every teenager goes through his or her secret crush but don’t acknowledge it because that’s the easy way. However, sometimes a friend might step in and help to move things along, just like the barista did in the end.
