Feedback on The F-Word
The article "The F-Word" is an enlightening article on feminism. The author, Jasmine Hart, dismantles stigma surrounding feminism and explains why she is a feminist. The piece is filled with real-life examples of misogyny, gender inequality, and rape culture is our patriarchal society.
What made this article so powerful for me, were the shocking statistics. "In a survey of college-aged men, one is three said he would commit rape if he believed he could get away with it," one line reads. Hard evidence like this makes the sexism in our society irrefututable to any in doubt. It shows that gaining the ability to vote was only the tip of the iceberg in the feminist movement. I admire Jasmine Hart for her hard-hitting writing and courage to talk about her own experience with rape. Overall, this article was very interesting and extremely well-done.
