"My New Normal" by Gwen Faulkner is an interesting story about how having lupus is sad and unthinkable. It slowly takes away your ability to do anything on your own. Gwen was surprized bacause she was unaware that the slight change of moving and recieving pain increased in the mornings. She says "I was only nine, but i was convinced i was dying". She is now in a wheelchair and has to take medication every morning. she dislikes her medication saying "I still pray i go in remission, so i never have to take those taste-bud killers in my mouth she is inclear of whats going on in her body but still believes she has a chance.
