My Response to "A Daydream Away"
“A Daydream Away” reminds me of a song by All Time Low. Awkwardly, they both have the same name. This poem seems like this is either about an old friend or a past fling/boyfriend/girlfriend of some sort. The imagery is beautiful. The line “as if you hadn’t been carried away in the flooding of the East Coast” makes me think that they grew apart. Almost as if they were really close and then the next second, gone.
I really, really love the last stanza. “So you could have not seen me (on purpose) as you’ve always done.” The line completely describes my life, in my eyes. This line makes me think that the one person ignored them when they wanted to; almost like a fake friend. Only at the persons’ disposal when they needed them.
