This poem really hit me hard. I never thought of me being a just a price to my parents or the court. I also have divorced parents and get child support. But, this poem really opened my eyes to what a plain old check could be just what I'm worth. I never really payed any attention of how much money the check has.

My favorite line is "Apparently that's how much I'm worth." It just shows that a child doesn't grow up with both parents, and the check replaces the parent's part in a child's life. I saw the truth of a check can really effect a child's love for a parent. My child support doesn't really effect me, but when it comes to a child, it does hit me hard.
