Bittersweet MAG
I thought that Brittany H. did an excellent job writing “Bittersweet.” Appearing in the September issue, it is the story of Brittany’s older brother leaving for college. It describes her feelings at that time and her feelings a year later.
I especially liked it because I will soon be able to relate to it, since my brother is a senior in high school. I was sad when I read it because it reminded me how soon he will be gone, but I was happy when she said that her feelings of loss got better quickly. I usually don’t like sad nonfiction stories, but I liked this one. It is also a good perspective for oldest children or only children to see how their parents or siblings felt when they left for college. Thanks, Brittany, for writing this great story.
