Time to Talk About Night of Furies
In the article “Night Of Furies” by Talea is quite the sad story as it starts off with this girl named Maryam in a dream where she is covered in blood then other people chanting that were covered in blood then she woke up in a hoot, only realizing it was a dream. Then she enters her parent’s bedroom only to hear bad news. “There is news that four thousand people died, Hindus and Muslims in equal numbers. And I’ve heard stories all morning … it was bad.” Her mother had told her something had happened between Hindus and Muslims. After that her mother had told her that they are moving to a new location for their safety. Then as time goes she wakes to something that isn’t a dream “That night, I woke to the sound of screams. My mother came into my room and hastily tugged me off the bed” but she woke to her father and uncle fighting off gang member but unsuccessfully die in the act of bravery in the end.
