Looking in the Mirror
I found Sophia Picozzi's article "Looking in the Mirror" extremely moving. As someone who struggled with the way she looked, I can relate to Sophia and the way she felt. Sophia talks about how she started "whitewashing herself" to look the way she wished others would see her. This article is really powerful, because it adresses an issue teenagers are having nowadays, myself included. Sometimes it's really hard feeling like you fit in, whether that's because of the color of your skin or the way you look entirely. I really liked a quote Sophia uses, "looking in the mirror shouldn't be painful for anybody" and she is completely right, it shouldn't be painful and we still have a long road to achieve that. Thank you, Sophia for being brave and for writing this amazing article.
