Which Ate What Where? MAG
Which ate What Where?
Puzzle by Jonathan R., Newark, DE A pelican, heron, goose, duck and an osprey each ate one of five types of bass: largemouth, smallmouth, spotted, striped and rock. Each bass was eaten at one of the five Great Lakes: Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie and Superior. Using the clues below, figure out which bird ate which bass at which lake. GOOD LUCK!
1. The bird that ate the spotted bass did not eat it at Lake Superior.
2. The bird that ate its bass at Lake Erie ate the smallmouth.
3. The osprey and the pelican did not eat their bass at Lake Ontario, but one ate the largemouth and the other ate its bass at Lake Michigan.
4. The bird that ate the bass at Lake Superior has flown with the heron and the duck, but it has never flown with the birds that ate the spotted and largemouth.
5. The heron did not eat its fish at Lake Erie.
6. The osprey, heron and duck fly together. In no particular order, one of these birds ate its bass at Lake Erie, one ate a striped bass and one ate a largemouth.
