Wounded
You see that girl?
Over there?
The wounded one,
She trusts no more.
No one is trusted,
In her eyes,
We are the enemy,
Another battle.
Do you know why?
Why she trusts no one?
Who did this?
How she was hurt?
A person,
Just like yourself,
Did the unspeakable.
They betrayed a friend.
They betrayed a friend,
one that loved them,
One that trusted them,
One that believed in them,
When no one else did.
Now,
She trusts no one,
She loves no one,
She believes in no one,
Not even herself.
You see,
there is more,
To that girl,
Than meets the eye.
On the outside,
She is beautiful,
She is confident,
She is smart and funny.
On the inside,
She is ugly,
she is a mess,
She is cold and hard.
You see that girl?
Over there?
She needs you,
But you would never know,
And she is to afraid to admit it.
