How to Fit In and Avoid Discrimination

Hey there new student. From us the students, to you the new kid; we are providing you with a few tips about getting around, which is very important for survival here at our school. This list was made for the one and only reason of new kids in the past who have been unhappy or have taken a long time to figure out the people at school. Though now, that is not an issue do to this list! Thank us later:

Physical Appearance:
1) You have to pay attention with this. You must search for the group that fits your physical aspects the best. Same straight brown hair? Same blue eyes? Same athletic body type? Same exotic fashion style? Look for it all.

2) Wish to be friends with someone that doesn’t have any physical similarities with you? If you’re lucky, you can try and go as you to see what they do. Though, if you rather not take any chances the only way to fit in will be to change your hair, or style for example. Do they have blue hair? Might as well go to the salon and dye your hair until you reached the level of similarities between your hair and the other’s hair. They wear tight jeans and oversized shirts everyday to school and pink on Wednesdays? Better follow up and get all the large shirts with them tight jeans at the mall with some pink outfits as well for Wednesday only.

3) Are they the type of people who eat very little and workout everyday? Watch out for this - you must be as athletic-looking as they are. Make sure to only  eat the  single grain of rice they eat and not overdo it. Or maybe they possibly eat a whole lot, in that case you go ahead and eat 3 whole pizzas  if they do so.

Personality:
1) To fit in with a group of friends, you most certainly must come from a very similar background. This could be possible if you come from the same country for example; with the same country as a similarity, you can bond over that. If you had two different countries such as Colombia and Singapore, how do you expect you’ll get a conversation going? Such diversity wont help with the conversation. It’s not about learning new cultures, it’s about discussing the same and known ones.

2) It helps if you and the group or person speak the same language. You may know English, Italian, and Spanish, just like everyone else; though if you don’t speak Italian all day like they do, a language barrier will be formed and there is nothing you can do about it. You can’t hang out with them if you aren’t speaking the same language. It’s very rare to have a group of friends with combined languages throughout the day.

3) If you are one of those people, who come in quiet, and not wanting to stand out much as a new student yet...you may want to change that mindset because if you don’t come out as an extremely outgoing and opened person who knows where you’ll end up.

4) To make an even better first impression to make sure to have a talent that isn’t unique, but that is common. This could be sports, or singing, dancing, etc. Anything like that and you’ll be good to go here. If you for example pick a sport that people don’t do here; why embrace it and enjoy it if no one else does it? Go to some other sport and you’ll avoid the embarrassment

5) You know those trends of clothing or dance moves and all? Yeah, those are good ways to fit in. Just make sure you know where the dab, whip, and slang came from, then you’ll be great with your social life. This could be easy because who doesn’t know the new trends? Go ahead and crack a Damn Daniel joke; it will catch people's attention.

We assure you; if you follow this list and dedicate yourself to changing for the best of fitting in you will do great. Those who are themselves and not pay attention to these tips are totally weak people. Who wants to be themselves anyway? It’s better to be fake than sorry. Good luck in our High School!
