How We Deal with Disappointment
Everyone has faced some sort of disappointment in their life correct? You’re right, they have. But disappointment is not the end of the world for most people. Instead, it is the start of a new beginning.
Whenever you face disappointment in your life you learn to get over it. We as humans are accustomed to be this way and generally speaking, everything we know is learned through failures and experience. Disappointment is to failure as fear is to calm. This is because disappointment is not failure. If you are disappointed, it means that you tried. If you fail it is because you haven’t tried. This is because failure and disappointment are nowhere near the same thing. A way of you being able to get over disappointment is for you to surround yourself with good friends and good people overall. If you face a sort of disappointment this means that you have someone that you can talk to when it is needed. If you surround yourself with bad friends that implies that you do not want people in your life that can help better it overall. At some time in your life, you will face disappointment, your friend will face disappointment, and we all will face disappointment. This is because disappointment is natural and we all learn at some point that this is how it works. If your life is perfect then good for you but for many others, that is not the case.
Another way of getting over disappointment is being able to talk to your family or some sort of teacher about the struggles that you are going through. If you can rely on these people it will make your life a lot easier and it can help you with what you are going through. Your family has known you for your entire life, they will know what to do to help you. Some people take disappointment really hard, that’s why you sometimes need somebody that you can just sit down and talk to. Another good example is a teacher that you can rely on. Especially if you are disappointed with how you did on a test or final, a teacher could be the best person there is to help you. You could try and figure out what you did wrong, how you can improve, and also if you can potentially have another chance.
In conclusion, many people in life face disappointment, if not all. However, there are ways for you to overcome this and disappointment does not mean failure, it just means that you have tried something new and gone outside of your comfort zone.
