Cross Country Actually Exists
The writing titled “Cross Country actually exists,” written by Brooke B., talks about cross country. This story left me feeling bad and a little angry. I agree that the cross country team should be acknowledged in pep rallies. No, I don’t experience our cross country team being left out because our school supports them. There is one assumption that the writer made that frustrates me. The writer said, “I’m sure two 20 meter sprints really took the life right out of their sleep-deprived bodies.” This assumption frustrates me because she has no idea how much we run, and she can’t take the hits like football players do. I do believe that she is right and that we need to acknowledge the cross country, but at some schools cross country teams are not recognized. “Our hard work doesn't get appreciated and administrators still wonder why our school spirit is so low,” she said.

This piece was a very realistic problem that some schools face, and we need to start supporting all extra curriculum activities.
