When Infinity Ends
You said we would be for infinity.
Somehow I knew it would be short-lived.
You asked me to fly with you.
I lifted my wings, but could not get off the ground.
I guess I didn’t believe enough.
But then again, how could I?
You rarely came around to see me,
only when you needed something.
You would tug at my heartstrings until they broke.
I would go to you so we could mend them,
but you would just throw me aside violently.
Me heart was drowned in misery and agony.
Then you annihilated my love with your hate.
It killed me, but I still loved you.
I’ve always loved you.
And now I’ve forgiven you, for all you’ve done.
So lay me down tonight, next to you.
Our bed of dirt will keep us warm, protect us.
Protect us from the cruelty and shame of the world.
Lay me by your side, for all I want is to be in your arms.
To feel your heart in sync with mine one last time.
I don't want to be on the Earth if I can’t be with you.
So lay me down, as we share a grave of grief and sorrow.
We share a grave of loss and despair.
For we’ve endured the most together.
Please. Don’t let me lose you.
Don’t let me float away.
For our infinity has ended.
