cordelia;
People say her heart is welded of iron—and that is the biggest lie I have ever heard, because if only they knew how many times she had wished that smile was for her, if only they knew how fast her heart fluttered whenever he called her name, if only they knew how she wanted those “I love you’s,” meant something more, if only they knew how she hoped that someday he’d give her her heart to keep and not to fix, if only they knew how she kept up under the pretense of “best friends” and innocent fidelity, struggling under the brutal lash of anonymity, how terribly, terribly, she wanted him to love her too.
