Seven Deadly Sins
They are the only ones that dwell in darkness. Shadows are the only ones that know where they derive. Seven deadly sins each with their unrivaled persona. Seven who do not belong here, but are here. Seven ailments that could ruin a town. From our streets we can hear them, lingering, people listen without control.
Their power is our weakness. They plant temping traps in our path that lead us to defeat. They watch people fall into an infinite hole, one so deep a ladder cannot save the victim. This is how they thrive.
Let one catch on to this deceit, they’d all shrivel up, as to be a thirsty flower in a waterless vase. Indulge, indulge, indulge, sins shout when I contemplate. They plead.
When I am too enticed and too provoked to keep resisting, when I am a speck amongst the angels, then it is when I look at the sky. When there is nothing left of this demolished town. Seven who ascend despite virtue. Seven who coax and do not forget to coax. Seven whose only reason to be is to devour.
