Dreamer
The hairs on my neck stood on end. I could feel him. His wavy hair, slight laugh, adorable smile. Dylan.* As he sat behind me now, I remembered the fourth grade, when I first saw him. For the next 8 years of my life, I harbored a secret longing. A longing for a boy it seemed I could never have. Writing poems, creating playlists, dreaming dreams for someone beyond my imagination's grasp. And to this day, I still stand, watching him, the hairs on my neck standing on end.
