Needed
“I can’t do this!” He screams, “I can’t,” his voice turns into a sob. The pain of so many years spills unto his face. He collapses, unable to bare the impossible burden. Tears pool around him. No one is there to pick him up anymore. “I can’t,” he whispers again, pushing the thin blade into his cream colored wrist. A thin line of blood begins to drip, he watches it mix with the tears staining the floor. As he begins to push harder on the blade, a hand stops him. “Yes, you can.” He looks up to see the face of his terrified little sister. Tears leave a path down her soft, innocent face. She pulls him to his feet and looks straight into his eyes, “don’t you dare give up on me. I need you. I can’t lose you too.” Staring into her crystal blue eyes, he realizes the one thing he’d forgotten. There was always someone that would need him. This little girl, would always need him. She pulled him close and held on like she’d never let go.
