The Crash

I’m surrounded by hundreds of people, but I feel so alone. After the crash, it has never been the same. Daniel, my brother, and I have been alone for about a year now. I can’t live with any of my family because they refuse to help us. It has been very hard for me cause I lost my job and I can’t bring food back for my brother. Its even harder for me at school cause I get bullied because of my shyness. After all of this, I feel like I’m in a very dark place. Slowly I’m giving up and I’m at my breaking point. Im only 16 I used to be social, and the “athletic type”. After the crash happened I started losing a lot of weight.

The next day at school there was a new girl. I thought she would judge me but she actually expected me. My first friend ever, I don’t know what its like to have someone really close to me thats a girl. The next few weeks has been really good and helping me get a job. After school I was at her house. I heard my name from the kitchen, ‘’Vanessa, Vanessa!!! Someone accepted your application, they loved your photos!!!’’

My first day at the job wasn't the best. My boss is really mean to people, he has a really short temper and whenever someone does something wrong he would roar as loud as a tiger. After my job ended I got a call from Britney, she didn’t sound as happy as she usually does. She told me that my brother got hit by a car and is in the hospital. I ran out of the small building my long brown hair flowing the the wind while I run to the city bus to the closest stop to the hospital. When I got to the hospital it smelled like medicine, an older lady was sitting behind the computer back bent over like she had been there for a while, I asked her what room Daniel Ford was in. She told me he was on floor 3 room 326. The older lady gave me a smile with her pearl white teeth. I took the stairs there was no time to take the slow elevator. I found the room I opened the door seeing my brother lying lifeless and pale as snow. I saw Britney walking up to me crying saying ‘’I’m so sorry Vanessa. They were skateboarding and the driver didn't see him.’’ I tried calming her down when I was about to cry. When I was about to say something a tall older man with gray hair said “”Hi you must be Miss Ford. I have good news he is getting better, Daniel had a small concussion and a broken arm.’’ I sighed in relief.

The next few weeks Daniel has been resting. Britney's little brother came to visit everyday and giving him his homework. For the next couple days I’ve been working really hard but Daniel has gotten really bad. His concussion got really bad. After four long weeks he died. I had to live my life, and what ever way my life was, it was going to work out it had too.
