The Thought of Returning
“Welcome to the 2013 awards ceremony for all who are here!” announced the announcer. The crowd full of different people from athletes to singers all cheered. “This year we are changing the charity benefit,” the announcer added. The look on everyones face looked confused, they are all used to the usual write a check, donate it, and leave. “This year we will have a little more fun by having a sports benefit were every point is scored, $50 are being raised for our charity fundraiser. The best part is that it will he held in Florida!” he said very enthusiastically. Everyone was unsure about the idea of this, or how it would turn out.
The award ceremony went on for another hour when the announcer said, “We are now going to announce the teams you will be on to raise the money. The first team will be, softball player Jennie Finch, basketball player MichaelJordan, country artist Carrie Underwood, and tennis player Serena Williams.” All four of each other look around until they all met eyes with each other. At the end of the announcement of each team, all teams met to schedule what needed to be scheduled and organized.
Carrie, Jennie,Michael, and Serena decided to take a morning flight to Florida at 8am. All artists went home waiting for their flight to arrive.
It was 6am, and Carrie had finished packing the night before, she had an hour flight to get to the airport. “I will be back soon, love you Mike.” she told her husband.
“Love you too Carrie, have fun!” yelled Mike. Carrie grabbed the keys and started to head to the airport.
Jennie was already half way there not really in the mood to go. She knew she was running early, but she was early for everything. Jennie was excited to go to Florida, but she wasn't sure about changing the whole charity benefit.
Michael had picked up Serena, they only had ten minutes to get to the airport. “So you really enjoy playing tennis?” asked Michael.
Serena did not feel very comfortable talking to Michael, but she answered, “Ya, its really fun.”
They were there finally, they got their luggage and entered the airport. Once they saw no on was there, they just sat and waited for everyone to arrive.
Everyone was at the airport and had already gone through security. They got on the plane and took their seats. Carrie and Jennie sat together, and Michael and Serena sat together. The plane ride was
only about two hours, and they had already arrived in Florida. They all walked together to collect their luggage. It seemed like forever before they all received their bags. They were all walking to get in their taxi, but it was hard with everyone trying to crowd around them. “hey!” people were yelling in excitement. Like lost celebrities they just walked along having the security guard them. When they got to the their taxi, they all jumped in relieved to finally get away from the mob. “So where to?” asked the taxi driver.
“To the EB hotel, sir.” said Michael.
“Alrighty then, Michael. So are you ready for the charity games? I heard they changed it up.” added the taxi driver.
“Ya I guess we are just a little nervous” answered Carrie.
“I bet you will all do great” said the taxi driver
“Thanks,” they all answered. They pulled in to the grand entrance of their hotel, they all stormed out Michael being the last one who payed. The driver got the luggage out and handed it to the owner, then said “Good luck everyone.”
“Thank you for everything.” said Serena Williams. Jennie was happy to finally arrive at the hotel so she could finally relax. She went straight to the front desk to collect her room key, and practically jogged to her room. When she got to her room she swiped her card, threw her bags down and went straight to bed. Jennie was exhausted and wasn’t in the mood for anything.
Michael also went straight to his room and just sat in the hot tub because of exhaustion. Carrie and Serena went to Starbucks to get coffee and a snack.
It was 9:00am, and the charity benefit didn’t start til 2pm. Jennie was now in a better mood now that she had gotten a good nights sleep. She walked to Carrie's room and knocked on the door, “Carrie its me do you want to go get breakfast?” she asked.
Carrie opened the door and said, “Yes, please. Come on in while I finish getting ready.”
“Ok, thanks. So what are you in the mood for?” asked Jennie.
“Um, I'm thinking anywhere with pancakes.” responded Carrie smiling. Once they got to the restaurant they saw that other teams were also getting breakfast before the event started. Carrie and Jennie just smiled and waved then sat a booth waiting for their waiter to come. “What can I get for you to lovely ladies” asked the waiter. Both Carrie and Jennie ordered what they wanted, and began talking about the charity event, and how they were a little nervous about the whole thing.
Once they had finished talking and eating Carrie and Jennie went back to the hotel, and went their separate ways to their room. “See you at one.” said Jennie.
The opponents on all teams had to be ready by one to get signed up and to practice. When 1pm came Serena, Jennie, Michael, and Carrie were in the lobby dressed in their athletic clothes. “So are we ready to go?” asked Michael.
They all shook their head meaning that they were ready. They all began walking to the exit where their4car was awaiting them. The driver gets out of the drivers seat and opens the back door for them to get in. They all get in the back seat without hesitation. Without saying anything the driver quickly closes the door and almost jogs back to his seat. He locks the door and begins to drive. “I'm starting to get nervous” said Michael.
“Oh we will be fine. We just need to try and score some points. How hard can it be.” responded Jennie. They had been driving for about seven minutes when Carrie said, “Is this the right way?”
As usual the driver did not respond, and kept driving. Michael started to get concerned and with a raised voice he said, “Stop the car!”
“Shut up!” yelled the driver. Carrie reached for the door handle, but had no success on opening it.
They all look at each other unsure of what was really going on. Jennie got her phone out to try to call somebody, but there was no signal. “Where are you taking us?” asked Carrie with her voice shaking. No response... “Open the door!!!,” screamed Micheal. The driver stoped the car in front of a building that was far from the city.
The doors automatically unlock, and Carrie quickly opened the door and jumped out of the car along with everyone else. They all run as fast as their legs can take them. Suddenly somehow they can't go any further, because somebody is pulling them back. Covered faces were grabbing them by the wrist tight enough so they can't get free. They are all being pulled to the hidden building. The door is opened, and Carrie says sobbing and screaming, “Please just let us go!”
They were all taken to a cellar in the basement of the building. They were all thrown in the same seller. Jennie said, “You know what I was feeling when we were trying to run, I thought we would return.”
