Journey to school
As the sun pours in through my bedroom window and my eyes open slowly, my heart skips a beat as I think of the day ahead. My feet sink into the soft, silky carpet as I get out of bed and my lazy head hangs uncontrollably. I slowly dawdle towards the bathroom and splash my face with freezing cold water, finally wide awake. I groan, thinking about the school whilst getting changed into my crisp, cotton white shirt and my neatly ironed grey skirt. I put on my tie shoes and walk as slow as a tortoise making my way to the living room. When I open the oak door, the smell of warm toast fills my nostrils rapidly. I reach the table and gorge myself with toast and peanut butter. Nearly time to go, I dump my textbooks into my bag which looks more like a potato sack, to be honest! We set off on our endless journey to the bus stop along the winding roads. The closer we came to the stop, the busier the streets were. Cars rushed past me which led to dark black hair harshly hitting my face due to the wind and I started to feel grumpy. Waiting for the bus with my sister, I turn impatient as the bus takes its own time to make its way to us. Finally, the bus arrives and I hop on, relieved that I won’t be late today. At last our stop comes and we get off. Almost immediately the familiar noise of crowds of people ring against my ears, nearly ripping my eardrums. This is school.
