Innocently Dead
I watched the birds gently peck at the dead girl's remaining flesh, tearing cascading down my face. I couldn't stand to watch it anymore, so I stepped forward and the birds immediately began milling around. Waving my hands desperately, I hoped to get a last look at the decaying corpse. The birds finally cleared, and her rotting flesh was revealed, only to release more tears. My tears fell onto her; some nonchalantly slid off, while others tried to cling onto her body. Stubborn but sweet, my sister never understood.
