Swim in Peaces
As tiny bubbles rise to the surface of the water I replay it in my mind.
The wake boarder flipping in the height of the air. His foot getting caught in the wire. A yelp of pain fled from his mouth. Crashing down, breaking the surface like glass.
The boat still speeding through the lake. They stop, turn around and shock blankets them.
Horror, fear, stress, hope, disbelieve. So many emotions.
The once blue water is now red. The team dives in to help, and came back with a corpse. On the news the reported informed us that the body was buried underwater, in the man's favorite spot.
Accompanying it, a white cross inscribed with the date and new saying. "Swim in peace", or should it say pieces?
