Deathly Waters
You wake up from being unconscious. You can feel your head pounding. Your memory is still a little foggy, but you can remember a couple things. You remember that you were swimming in a lake. It was a hot sunny day and you were with all of your family. Then all of a sudden, you felt a deadly force pull you down deeper into the water. The lake was nicknamed the deathly waters but you had never thought anything of it. You thought that was the end, but you were very wrong. You look around and see what looks like the same lake you were just at, but when you look around you realize that nobody from your family is with you. They aren't near the water, where you last saw them. You see other people. They are not people you recognize. Something about them gives you a weird feeling. It is almost like they have a gray tint to them. You notice a black haze going over the sky. You shiver as you notice the harsh winds going past you. You approach a group of people to ask for help. There is what looks like a mom, dad, little girl, and a baby. As you're walking towards them they slowly disappear. You walk backwards and see them again, but as you go forward again they fade away. You still aren't quite sure what is happening. As you look around you see even more people. They all look mostly normal to you except for the slight gray tint taking over their skin. You walk across the sand into the shallow tide. The salty smell makes you uncomfortable. You feel like someone is trying to push you further in. There were other people in the water, so you decide that you will be fine. Again you are mistaken. You continue to walk deeper and deeper until you drop. The water rushes past you as you speed deeper and deeper. You try to find something, anything to grab on too but it's too late. You feel yourself start to lose consciousness again. You wake up and you're in the exact same spot that you were with your family. All of the people are still there. You can still feel the hot sun, and hear the excited laughter in the air. You look at your family just to see that they are in the same area. They are still sitting in the sand. You become very confused. You quickly get out of the water in fear of getting pulled down again, carefully watching where you step. You ask your parents if they saw what had happened. They look at you with concerned looks. “What do you mean?” they ask. You try to explain what happened but your words are getting messed up and your parents are becoming more and more confused. “You have been out there in the water this entire time” they say. You wonder if your mind just made up that entire story. “But it felt so real,” you think. You look back at the water. Nobody else is being pulled under the water, nobody else thinks anything is wrong. Later that night you begin to research the lake. After what seems like days of looking you finally find something. You read that you were supposed to die. The people you saw were just people that had the same thing happen to them. They were just not brave enough to escape.
