Avery
Avery was the definition of closed off and cold hearted. The only person she would really talk to and open up to is her Best friend Mona. The Only reason she acted up was because her mother, who was the head of a fashion company, would never pay attention or talk to her. They didn't have that mother daughter relationship, so she acted out to try to get her mom’s attention. She pulled pranks at school, went to parties and stayed out all night, but none of those things really got her mother's attention. All she would do is come bail her out of trouble with money, yell at her and go back to not talking to her. Right now she was in the principal's office getting into another fight with a girl and knocking her unconscious and Mona was there to help her.
“So I see you have gotten into another fight at my school. Which makes this your third fight this month.” Principle Meyers stated.
“It seems so.” Avery said enthusiastically. She could see her face turning beet red from her lack of care and it almost made her want to laugh, while Mona who did not care, she busted out laughing.
The only person she would really open up to is her best friend Mona. They were friends since they were little children and she was the only person she trusted. She was the prankster of the school causing mischief everywhere she went, and Mona was her partner in crime. Avery got away with a lot of the things that she does because her mom is the Ceo of a fashion design company. To any outsider it would look like she likes to get into trouble, but really she was looking for attention because her mom doesn't pay enough attention to her.
Right now Avery was in the principal’s office for getting into yet another fight with a girl, and knocking her unconscious. Mona was also in the principal's office for jumping in to try and save her. Her chair Squealed as she kicked her feet up on the principal's desk. This wasn't really new to her, it was always the same situation where she gets into trouble. Her mom comes to get her and she brings how much money she needs to get bailed out. If possible, the principal's face turns even redder
“What's so funny Mona”? This is a serious matter and I will not take disrespect into my office.”
That was the last straw for Avery to bust out laughing. “Excuse me but-”
Suddenly the door burst open and in walked Avery mom looking calm as ever.
“Ms.Carmical, glad you're here, let's step into my office.” The principal who had a fake smile plastered on her face got up and led Avery's mom to her office.
At that moment Mona's mom walked in “get you stuff Mona lets go,” Her mom stated a little too calmly.
“Love you Ave see you later” Mona stated.
“Love you more.” Avery replied as Mona walked out of the door.
Avery's mom and the principal walked out of the office “We have good news and bad news. The good news is this fight won't go on your bad record,” but the bad news is you have been expelled from school.” I have persuaded this more than kind principal to not let this fight go on your record if you go to a boarding school for delinquents.” Avery's mom stated so calmly as if she did not care, as if she wanted to get her non behaving daughter out of the house.
On the outside Avery looked like she did not care but on the inside she was angry that she would have to start over and say goodbye to her only friend. “Okay” she simply stated and walked out to her mother's car not waiting to see their reactions. She heard her mother's high heels as they clicked on the ground with each step she took. Avery got into the front seat of her car followed by her mother.
As they drove home neither of them said a word to each other leaving an uncomfortable silence in the car. Avery was thinking of a way she was going to tell Mona that she was leaving. “ Once we get home, pack all of your things I already signed you up we are leaving immediately.” Her mother stated in a monotone. Avery didn't reply; she sat there still thinking about Mona facing the window.
They finally arrived at the gate to their mansion and Avery immediately hopped out, slammed the door and went into her room without speaking to any of the maids like she usually does. She went up to her room, slammed the door and started packing. While she was packing she didn't realize it but a tear had slid out of her eye. She quickly wiped it and finished packing.
An hour later after she finished packing she went downstairs and told her mother she was finished. Once again they went to put her luggage in the car and they set out for the airport. When they arrived at the airport she got on the private plane without saying anything to her mother.
A flight attendant walked up to her seat, put a grilled cheese sandwich and orange juice on heer tray and walked off without saying a word. The blaring of her phone caught her attention.
She answered it without checking the caller ID “why didn't you tell me you were going to boarding school? I'm supposed to be your best friend and you just left without saying goodbye.” a voice shouted at the other end of the line.
“I’m sorry Mona I was going to tell you but I did not know how.” Avery replied in a sincere tone.
“It's fine, just call me everyday and I could come and visit you and you could come and visit me. Everything is going to be fine.” Miona rambled on the other line with her voice cracking at the end.
“It's going to be fine, Mona, I will call you back”. And she hung up without waiting for her to reply.
A flight attendant woke her up and she headed to the front and off the plane to see a driver putting her luggage in the trunk ready to take her to the boarding school. ”Good afternoon Ms Avery. I am here to escort you to the school and show you around while you're here. I will be your personal guard.” He said in a posh sounding voice.
Once again she did not reply and headed to the limo where he opened the door for her. The driver went to the front and started driving the car, leaving Avery alone with her thoughts on what is to come at her new school.
Once she arrived at the school her guide showed her to her dorm. She went inside and saw a short girl with chestnut brown hair sitting at a desk. “You must be my new roommate. My name is Mindy welcome to your new dorm room” she said enthusiastically.
Avery did not say anything but she was wondering why she was so happy to be at a reform school. She walked in her room and started unpacking without sparing Mindy another glance.
“Ok so would you like to get shown around the school?”
Avery replied with a simple no thanks and kept unpacking.
“Okay well I'm going to leave you to unpack and go to the cafeteria, you are welcome to join.” Mindy stated.
Avery thought about it and decided to go. While they were walking they held a light conversation because she thought might as well make some friends while here.
“So when we get there you can meet some of my friends they are really nice once you get to know them.” Mndy said.
“Thas sounds good,” Avery replied. Once they got to the cafe they went to a table with three other people sitting there. There was one girl and three boys. She sat at the table and Mindy introduced them as Dylan Marcus and Veronica.
“So what brings you here?” Dylan asked.
“Well I was a trouble maker and my oh so wonderful mother decided that I needed to go to reform school”. Avery stated.
“Looks like you don't have a great relationship with your parents either. All of us here have something in common, so no one is mean to anyone because we all understand each other.” Marcus said.
“Yeah that's why I think you are going to like it here because it's really fun and the teachers are really understanding.'' Veronica said.
“Well thanks, I think I might like it here. From then on it was five against the world.
