Lucy's Sadness
Darkness overtook the sky. The sun refused to shine. The clouds dripped a never ending rain. Lucy was never sad. In fact she was a very joyful girl. But, today the darkness overtook her and plunged her into a never ending sadness. The sadness spread infecting the people around her. Causing them anger, grief, and pain. But, this didn’t bother Lucy. No, she was just sad. Opening the door of her home she stepped inside. The once happy atmosphere now completely diminished with her presence. The dim lights cast a shadow of darkness over her. Her mother called a happy greeting to her. Which she returned with a dull and void “hello”. Her sister smiled happily at her which she returned with a frown. Lucy didn’t even bother to answer her younger brother when he asked her to play with him. She simply began to trudge up the long, never ending staircase. She never got to the top. For the anger and sadness she felt had infected others. But they didn’t stop at cutting themselves off from friends and family. They let it take them over fully and they started a war. Now those same people dropped a bomb on Lucy’s house. Now the house that used to hold so much joy lay in ruins.Inflicting sadness, anger, and pain on others and starting the cycle over again. All because of a gloomy day and someone's bad decision.
