At Ease
The morning sun starts to just peek in through the clouds. The sweat drips off of his arms and into the fresh river water. He’s never felt so peaceful, so at ease. His arms work back and forth to move the oars to glide him through the water. Peaceful; he makes his way back home.
The Little Ballerina
She slips her foot into the satin shoe. This is what it all comes down to. This day. She hears the announcer, the crowd hush, and her music start. She steps out onto the stage and does her first move, feeling a rush of adrenaline through her body. She finishes with a roar of applause.
The Perfect Night
“I love you,” he said whispering into her ear. This night couldn’t be more perfect. He leaned into her, grabbing her hand. He saved one last surprise, one that will change everything. He turned to her, “Marry me,” he said sliding the ring onto her finger.
“Yes,” she said with tears falling down her cheek.
