Glass flew everywhere. Mrs. Jones nearly choked on her biscotti.
Kids outside the window were staring with eyes as wide as moons. Nobody moved.
She checked her body. She wasn’t bleeding badly.
Tommy, Ruth’s grandson, came to her window. “Mrs. Jones?”
“Yes, Tommy?”
“Can we have our baseball back?”
She removed it from her teacup.
