August 2022 Fiction Contest: Painted Friends

I put my signature at the bottom corner of the painting and lean back. It’s simple at first glance but once you look closer you can see two figures in the flower field sitting far enough apart for another person. One is really tall and the other really short. I put my hand on the painting, closing my eyes. I open them again and I’m sitting next to friends in the field. ‘Hi Bee and Boo!’ I smile. We spend the next hour making flower crowns before I hear someone call my name. I say goodbye. Till next time my friends.
