Lia has lived her life being bitter about living in an orphanage her whole life. When she's told that she's getting adopted by a man named Robert Hastings, she's shocked.
Robert Hastings is just as shocked. Only recently finding out he has a daughter, and that she's in an orphanage, he does the first thing that comes to his mind, and adopts her. While trying to develop a bond with her in order to give her the family both never had, he tries to decide if her should tell her that she is his biological daughter, or not.
