Meeting the Spark
Summary:
At eight years old, Sheyann and her best friend Rachel run into a Civil Rights meeting at their church. Sheyann's curiosity leads her inside, where she learns what it is like to be part of something really important.
She continues to grow with these new people, finding that being a freedom fighter fills a gap in her life. However, when her parents find out about her involvement in the meetings, they forbid her to return.
With a march coming up soon, will Sheyann listen to her parents and stay away from danger, or will she fight alongside the adults on the road to freedom?
