Omnipotence
We, as human beings, are autonomous organic creatures that have an intricate relationship with nature. Humans are shaped by nature and nature is shaped by humans: a symbiotic interaction. This was the general theme/message that I wanted to portray throughout this piece, and the main goal was to portray human anatomy and nature. I first began by designing and cutting out a linocut board that had tree-nature like shapes. I then printed these linocuts onto paper and compacted these prints onto a mold that resembles a human head. The wires were then shaped to resemble that of a tree or a branch while its presence around the head resembles that of nerves. As a final touch, I decided to input a strand of flexible lights within the head to provide a glow for the head. The light symbolizes life, something that is intricate within humans as well as nature.
